Hey guys, Yaridovich here! It has occurred to me that the most latest generation of Pokémon games seems to be heavily inspired by Dragon Ball. Here, I will point out the more blatantly obvious similarities, as well as those you probably wouldn't have guessed. Pokémon details are listed in blue, Dragon Ball details in green.
You use a total of seven Mega Stones to summon the Sky High Pokémon, Rayquaza.
Goku and friends (or enemies) use seven Dragon Balls to summon the eternal dragon, Shenron.
Mega Mewtwo X/Y Final Form Frieza
10% Zygarde, 50% Zygarde, Perfect Zygarde (Also those other two forms) Imperfect Cell, Semi-Perfect Cell, Perfect Cell (Also the Pupae and Cicada forms)
Hoopa, the Djinn Pokémon. Pink in colour. Majin Buu, also known as "Djinn Boo". Pink in colour.
Mega Evolutions raise the power of Pokémon.
The Super Saiyan transformation raises the powers of Saiyans.
Special Notes:
We may get a "Pokémon Z".
If Zygarde DOES absorb Yveltal and Xerneas, this makes them Android 17 and Android 18, respectively. Volcanion is potentially Android 16.
Team Flare are basically the Red Ribbon Army. They are filled with General Blues. Lysandre is Commander Red.
Xerosic is Dr. Gero. Essentia is essentialy (see what I did there) a close counterpart to the Androids.
The event 1000 years ago is practically a past tense counterpart to Trunks' future, minus the Androids. AZ is likely "past Trunks"... kind of...

Final Decision
After giving it some thought, I have decided to change the Smash Fighters Z series to incorporate Crash Bandicoot instead of Kirby. This will mean that all Kirby-related media is henceforth adapted out of the series going forwards.
I am currently unsure how this will affect the Multiverse Tournament and Tabuu storylines, as both of those are crossover material on their own.
Smash Fighters Z - A Dealbreaking Change
This is the biggest problem I have ever come across regarding Smash Fighters Z. In the series, the three primary franchises are Super Mario, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Kirby. I am now at a crossroads; the appeal for Crash Bandicoot makes me want to swap the Kirby series (which is considerably off-the-wall to begin with) or that of Crash Bandicoot.
Another primary reason is that, as a Shonen-influenced series, Crash as a character would fare on par with Mario and Sonic much better than Kirby does. Kirby also seems to have relatively little role in the story in comparison with the likes of Meta Knight, King Dedede, Waddle Dee, Dark Matter, Marx,
